I never have been very good at sticking to my new year's resolution, but I promise I really am trying. The posts WILL be more often!

First off I'd like to encourage everyone to consider supporting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I've posted a link on the side of the page and hope you'll all take a look. One of my brother's friends has recently been diagnosed and those who know her are doing everything they can to support her. Thank you :)

Next, I'm excited super excited about my trip to Ottawa in exactly one week! I'm going with a program called Encounters With Canada. I'll be spending a week in the capital participating in activities and explorations based around the theme Arts and Culture. The program brings together teenagers from all over Canada, so it'll be an amazing place to meet people of different backgrounds and values, but who all have something in common. Now I've never been to Ontario, so I'm really looking forward to exploring more of Canada. I think it's wild to live in such an amazing, albeit huge, country and not try to see as much of it as possible!
My top things to see and do while I'm there? Well, here's a short list:

1. Parliament. Lame, I know, but I love politics and it's actually a little sad how little I follow Canadian politics.
2. Vintage shopping. I love exploring vintage shops when I'm in other cities, it seems like everywhere but Calgary has amazing vintage! I had some very good luck in Halifax this summer!
3. National Gallery of Canada. Some of the best visual art in the country, need I say more?!

Of course there are a million things I'd love to see, but that's just a preview for you. I'll be posting lots of pictures of my trip. Ottawa won't know what hit it!!

  1. That's cool you're going on a trip :) I found monthly resolutions working out for me a lot better than new years resolution. Introduce one new thing you'd change a month and everything works out. I cut out pop out of my life and only drink water for the first month (and still do). My February goal (and hopefully continues to go on past the month)is to cut out those starchy potato products. :)
